Zelda of the Moor

Where wind meets silence, the moor listens back

Reclaiming Science

Welcome to the Balance Principle

This is a growing collection of open access papers exploring geometry, equilibrium, and the quiet mathematics that seem to hold the natural world in balance.

The work began with simple intuitions drawn from walking the moor, and it has grown gently, each study building on the last.

You will also find a visual section here, where the ideas are shown as images and diagrams  for those who like to see as well as read.

The writing itself has been shaped with care. I am neurodivergent, with dyslexia and dyspraxia, so the words are set out to flow softly and clearly, and some of the pages are presented on soft yellow to make reading kinder on the eyes.

Alongside the papers you will also find stories.

These are warm companions to the science, written so that anyone can come to understand the Balance Principle in their own way, and in their own time.

Please note:  the AI-generated visual interpretations. While every effort has been made to ensure they faithfully represent the ideas in the original paper, images of this kind may occasionally simplify or approximate mathematical and geometric content. For precise definitions, formal statements, and full mathematical detail, the original published paper remains the authoritative source.
